Protecting Vulnerable Populations

Dear Vincentians,

The National Society of St. Vincent de Paul has directed all Councils to follow the mandates of their respective dioceses in regards to Child Protection Training. The diocese of Belleville requires an annual online Child Protection course. In compliance with this requirement, the Belleville Council Society of St. Vincent de Paul now has an educational, online training, "Protecting Vulnerable Populations." It is required for all active members and volunteers. As the name implies, it addresses not only Child Protection, but also other vulnerable populations we come into contact with as Vincentians.

In our ministry, we are called to help many who cannot always speak for themselves and those who are completely vulnerable. WE must be their voice. This course presents information and tools to teach how to recognize and report abuse and neglect.  It is an easy format and is structured so you can start and stop at your convenience and does not have to be done all at one time. (Total time: generally, 60 to 90 minutes).

Training can be completed on your own computer. Computers are available at the Council Office if you would like to complete the training there.
