Job Link

Unemployment is one of the most threatening situations that anyone can face. It brings uncertainty, fear and financial crisis. This new program is staffed by dedicated volunteers who research the area job market to find what employment is available. A weekly flier is published to provide a "link" to potential "jobs." See Job Link page.

Embrace-A-Bear

The Belleville Council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul collects gently used or new stuffed animals to be used in ministry with the sick, elderly, homebound, lonely and forgotten. If you would like to donate or receive animals for ministry, please contact the Belleville Council St. Vincent de Paul Office at 618 394-3568.

Prescription Outreach Program (POP)

The Belleville Council has a Pharmacy program to provide low cost medications for the uninsured or underinsured. Through an arrangement with Express Scripts of St. Louis, the Council provides pharmaceutical vouchers to area Conferences to give to clients who qualify. The Vincentians assist the clients in filling out the vouchers which are then taken to their doctor who fills in the scrip portion and mails the voucher in the pre-paid envelope to Express Scripts. Express Scripts fills a 90 day prescription and mails the medicine to the client. The cost to the patient is between $5-$20 per medication. The Conference or Council shares or covers the cost if the client cannot. The program is expanding to include applications for name brand medications to drug companies for free prescriptions. Please contact the Belleville Council St. Vincent de Paul Office at 618 394-3568 with questions.

Books For The Bus

The St. Vincent de Paul Mobile Soup Kitchen serves more than a meal on the soup bus! Donated books are collected all year round for our "Books-On-The-Bus" program. As children leave the bus, they are invited to take a donated book home with them and encouraged to learn the joy of reading! If you would like to donate your gently used books, please call the Belleville Council St. Vincent de Paul Office at 618 394-3568.
